My friend and I spent the day texting back and forth about how we have let so many things fall through the cracks.
We had both set goals at the beginning of the year like we always do.
But, as it often does, life got in the way.
The summer usually leaves me with little time to take care of my goals. The days are long, and the chore list is longer.
I look around at my desk that used to be tidy with projects. Now, it is cluttered with paperwork.
Do you feel a little like I do?
GETTING BACK TO PRIORITIZING YOU
I have stop and start moments. I get inspired to take on a passion project of my own only to come up short on time to continue as I need to.
Why does this happen?
Because I don’t prioritize.
And dang, if you aren’t organized on top of that, you will struggle.
Grab your journal, and let’s fix this.
Write out all the thoughts and emotions you are feeling right now. This could take you a while, or it may be quick. The point is to get out of your own head.
Think about your goals and the things you have let go undone for a while. These things were important to you at one time. So why did you stop prioritizing them?
A STICKY SITUATION
A few weeks ago, I had written down four key things I wanted to really hit hard for the remainder of the year. But, unfortunately, that sticky note ended up getting stuck on a random piece of paper. So, I forgot about it. Out of sight, out of mind.
Sitting at my desk today, I had the desire to write down four things I want to focus on for the next few months.
While opening my planner to start putting these things on my calendar, guess what I found.
My little sticky note had an identical twin. So the same four things that were important to me still held a high ranking in my mind.

Grab a sticky note and map out the four things you want to prioritize.

It doesn’t have to be permanent, and you don’t have to share it with anyone. Instead, stick it on your planner pages and look at it daily and often.
TAKE IT SLOW
Don’t try to take on a lot right now. The biggest mistake I make is changing all-the-things at one time. You have my permission to get a good look at your goals and wear them a little. See how they fit. Visualize what your life will look like when you start prioritizing yourself.
